THE 8th SUPPLICATION
THE PROPHET’S SUPPLICATION WHEN IT RAINS HEAVILY
The supplication: “O Allah! Let it (heavy rain) be round and not upon us.” By: Muhammad, Allah’s Messenger.
Proof of acceptance: Quoted from the authentic Hadith wherein this invocation is stated. Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “While the Prophet was delivering Khutbah (religious talk) on the pulpit on Friday; one man Stood saying: “O Allah’s Messenger! Invoke Allah to water us (descend rain). Soon, cloudy became the sky; heavy was the rain, hard it was for us to reach our homes, Kept it raining till the next Friday that the same man or another stood and said: “O Allah’s Messenger Invoke Allah to dismiss” (withhold) it as we are submerged (over flowed). The Prophet invoked: “O Allah! Let it be round about us and not upon us.” Soon, clouds began to disperse and Al-Madinah inhabitants ceased rain. [Reported by Al-Bukhari]
