THE 2ND SUPPLICATION
THE PROPHET’S SUPPLICATION, AND HIS SYMPATHETIC WEEPING FOR HIS COMMUNITY.
The supplication: “O my Lord! My community!
My community” [reported Muslim]
Proof of acceptance: Narrated Amr Ibn Al-Aas that the Prophet recited the Holy verses of Allah, The Exalted and Possessor of Majesty about Ibrahim; “O my Lord! They have indeed led astray many among mankind. But whoso follows me, he verily; is of me. And whoso disobeys me, still You are indeed Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [Surah Ibrahim (36)].
And Jesus said: {If You torture them, they are Your slaves, and if You forgive them, verily, You, only You, are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise} [Al-Maidah (118)]
Then, he (Muhammad) raised his hands and said: “O my Lord! My community! My community!”, and burst into tears. Allah. the Exalted and Possessor of Majesty said: “‘Gibriel! Descend to Muhammad and your Lord is the All-Knowing, and ask him “What makes you so burst into tears?” Soon Gibriel there came to Muhammad and asked him, and Muhammad told him of what he said, and Allah is the All-knower, Allah said: “O Gibriel! Go and tell Muhammad: “Concerning your community; We shall not grieve you, but pleased and satisfied with Our Bountiful Graces, you will be” [reported by Muslim]
