THE 18th SUPPLICATION
THE MESSENGER’S SUPPLICATION FOR AL-MADINAH AL-MONAWARH
The Supplication: “O Allah! Bestow on Al-Madinah twice the blessing You bestowed on Makkah.” [Reported by Muslim]
“O Allah! Make us love Al-Madinah as we love Makkah or even more than that. O Allah! Give blessings in our Soa’ and our Mudd (measures symbolizing food), and make the climate of Al-Madinah suitable for us, and divert its fever towards Al-Juhfa” [reported by Muslim]
“O Allah! Bless us in our settlement (Al-Madinah} and bless us in our good measures, O Allah! Let it be two blessings with each blessing,” [Reported by Muslim]
Proof of acceptance: Narrated Abu-Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Allah’s Messenger said: “There are angels guarding the roads and entrances to Al-Madinah. Neither the plague nor Ad-Dajjal (the Imposter) enters it. ” [reported by Muslim]
Zaid bin Thabet narrated that the Prophet “It is Taibah; meaning Al-Madinah, and that it turns out bad persons as a furnace removes the impurities of silver.” [reported by Muslim]
Narrated Abu-Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Allah’s Messenger said: ‘There comes on people (Muslims) time when the man migrates from Al-Madinah and urages his cousins and his relatives to depart it despite the fact that Al-Madinah will be better for them if they but knew By He in whose hands my soul is, anyone who migrates from Al-Madinah, unwilling to settle in it, but will be substituted therein with a better one, Al-Madinah is like a furnace. It expels out its impurities, evil and bad people; and that the Day of Resurrect-ion will not befall until Al-Madinah turns out bad people as a furnace removes the impurities.” [reported by Muslim]
Dinar Al-Qaraz told Umar bin Nabih that he heard Sa’d bin Abi Waqas (may Allah be pleased with him) saying: “I heard Allah’s Messenger saying: “None plots against the people of Al-Madinah, but that he will be dissolved (destroyed) like the salt when dissolved in water.” [reported by Muslim]
Narrated Abu-Hurairah: “When the fruit are ripe, people used to give the fruit to the Prophet who invokes saying: “O Allah! Bless us in our fruit, and bless us in our settlement and bless us in our good measure.” O Verily! Ibrahim is your slave and Your intimate, and I’m Your slave and Prophet and he invoked You for Makkah, and I invoke You for Al-Madinah as twice blessings as Makkah- Then, Allah’s Messenger hands the fruit to the youngest of children present’ [reported by Muslim]
Narrated Sahl bin Haneef (may Allah be pleased with him): “When Allah’s Messenger towered over Al-Madinah, he said: “It is a safe sanctuary.” [reported by Muslim]
