THE 10th SUPPLICATION

THE PROPHET’S SUPPLICATION FOR ALI BIN ABI-TALEB (MAY ALLAH BE PLEASED WITH HIM)

The Supplication: Ali Ibn Talib was complaining from his eyes and the Prophet invoked for his recovery.

Proof of acceptance: Narrated Sahal bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that Allah’s Messenger said: “Tomorrow, I’ll hand the banner to a man upon whose hands Allah will grant victory.” He added; “People kept clamouring (arguing) that night about he who’ll be given the Prophet’s flag” The Prophet said: “Where is Ali bin Abi-Talib?” They said; “O Allah’s Messenger! His eyes hurt him badly.” The Prophet said: “Send for him to come,” When Ali bin Abi-Talib came, the Prophet spat in his eyes and invoked for him, Soon, his eyes recovered as if not suffering any pain ever since and the Prophet handed him the banner, All said: “O Allah’s Messenger! Is it to fight them until they embraced Islam?” The Prophet said: “Set forth until you have reached their courtyard. Then call upon them to embrace Islam, and make clear what is incumbent on them. By Allah, it is more worth for you to proselytize a man to Islam than to get hommor An-Naeme (the best camels in the Arabia).
