Section Five: The Christians’ Claim that the Qur’an Regards All Religions on an Equal Footing
The Christians referred to the following Qur’anic verse,
which means, ‘Surely, those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah, in His Messenger Muhammad and all that was revealed to him from Allah), those who are the Jews and the Sabians and the Christians, – whosoever believed in Allah and the Last Day, and worked righteousness, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.’ (Al-Ma’idah, 5: 69)
In response to this verse, they said that all people are regarded on an equal footing: the Jews, the Muslims and others.
