73. THE DELEGATION OF BANU MURRAH
Al-Waqidi related that they arrived in the 9th year during the Prophet’s return from Tabook. They were three individuals among whom was Al-Harith Ibn ‘Awf. Allah’s Messenger granted them ten ounces of silver and he gave Al-Harith Ibn ‘Awf twelve Uqiyah. They informed him that their land was barren and requested him to supplicate (to Allah) for them. He said: “Allah! Send down rain for them.” When they returned to their land, they found that rain had fallen the same day that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, supplicated for them.
